How I fell in love with this island?

Here are what I saw and what I thought about Guam in these five days.

When my friends found out that I'd travel to Guam ,they frequently asked me questions like "Where is Guam?" or "Are you going to Japan?".Every time I had to explain Guam is an US territory in the Pacific Ocean which is near to Philippines for thousand times.

But surprisingly, a few friends of mine knew the the geographical location.

When I was in Guam, the locals often either questioned my friends and I if we were Japanese or they spoke Japanese to us.I guessed the conclusion came out with the fact that there were too many Japanese tourists and Japanese workers. How funny was that the Japanese took an unsuccessful attempt in invading Guam decades ago during WWII and now they're spreading their "forces" with their people and language in every spots in town.

I have been to the states a couple of years ago,

Guam is not a miniature of the US.Guam is Guam.Guam may have similar streets ,stores and street signs to the states ,but the island has its own uniqueness.Taking 10 mins of walking time, you can get to Tumon beach which is near to the DFS shopping centre.10 mins of driving time ,you can visit to Plaza de España from your hotel.

However ,what I loved about this island the most is intangible.I love how blue the seawater is even when it tastes unbelievably salty and bitter ,how nice people are by making numerous small talks ,how gorgeous the sky and sunsets are. These things will never be able to be founded in Hong Kong. I wish I could live there for a while until I get sicked and tired of this city.

At least I brought one thing home from Guam----- seawater from Tumon Beach. After going back home,I turned it into sea salt by distillation and evaporation in a saucepan which I learnt from Chemistry class. I finally could make use of my years of Chemistry knowledge. Hahahaha
